Steek – or (gasp!) How to cut your knitting!

The one thing sure to raise a knitter’s blood pressure is suggesting we (I’ll whisper this), “Cut our knitting” Really it is not so threatening and is a very easy and useful technique to learn. Come and learn 3 techniques to steek your knitting including crochet and machine stitching. This technique can be applied to Fair Isle projects knit in the round (scarves, sweaters, cowls) or flat work that you want to put a zipper in. Come and try it. You will be amazed.
Level: knitters must be able to knit, purl, and cast on.
Homework: 2 swatches in worsted weight yarn. Pattern available at sign up.
Materials: 2 skeins worsted weight smooth yarn – preferably very different colors, Size US 7 or 8 needle, basic knitting supplies, crochet hook several sizes, very sharp scissors.
